How You Can Help
The General Dacey Trail is made possible by the generous support of federal, state, and local funds for the development of multi-use recreational trails.
Beyond these major gifts, countless volunteers have spent their Saturday mornings clearing brush, planting trees, and helping with on-going maintenance of the trail; and still others have given generous gifts for memorial benches, trees, signage, and other trail related equipment like bike racks and the Dacey Gator.
The local staff of the Corps of Engineers and the City of Shelbyville Park Crew are vital partners of the Dacey Trail Project, as are the staff at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
